Our Team

David joined the firm in 2017 and has 14 years of alternative asset management experience.  Prior to joining Grand Coast Capital Group, David worked as COO of Fullerton Investors, LLC a Chicago based family office.  In his role David oversaw allocation to 3rd party managers and direct investing in public markets, private investments and real estate.  Previously, David was a co-founder of Recurve Partners, a software company focused on portfolio management and investment due diligence for traditional and alternative asset managers.

 

Prior to Recurve, David served as the Director of Hedge Funds at HFR Asset Management where he oversaw a $3B hedge fund platform. In this role David built and managed the platform’s manager selection, due diligence, investment oversight, and portfolio management processes.

 

David graduated with honors from Vanderbilt University with a degree in economics.  David currently maintains the designation of Chartered Financial Analyst and is a member of the CFA Society of Chicago.

Fundraising & Investor Relations

Kevin joined the firm in 2016 as Senior Underwriter and brings 9+ years of experience in commercial real estate. Kevin is responsible for underwriting and assisting with asset management, valuation and loan servicing. Kevin most recently worked at Colony Capital as a Portfolio Analyst, overseeing assets totaling $400 million, including multi-family, office, and industrial properties. Previously, Kevin was a Senior Portfolio Accountant with Colony Capital, where he primarily focused on managing the budgeting process for a portfolio of assets of over $3 billion.

 

Kevin holds a B.S. in Management from the University of Massachusetts and is currently pursuing an MBA from Boston College.

Kevin Bonomi


Underwriting

Cathal joined the firm in 2016 as the Director of Acquisitions. Cathal brings 13+ experience in real estate, accounting and finance. Cathal was previously the Director of Finance at Boston Property Development, LLC, where he was responsible for the firm’s finance, accounting, tax and treasury operations and managing $45M in real estate assets. Prior, he was the Director of Development and Funding at the Mayo Group, where he started out as a financial analyst. During his tenure at Mayo, he was responsible for 4,700 units and managed $260M+ in assets. Cathal graduated from the University of Ulster at Coleraine in Northern Ireland, where he studied International Business.

Acquisitions

Jeff has over 10 years of experience in the real estate and investment sector, with a total real estate acquisition value in excess of $400 million. Prior to co-founding Grand Coast Capital Group, Jeff was a principal and Managing Partner at Triad Alpha Partners, where he focused on multi-family development and commercial investment in the greater Boston market.

 

Jeff has also served as Regional Director of Acquisitions for a Boston-based real estate private equity firm that acquired and managed net-leased industrial properties across the country. He was also a portfolio analyst for Bank of America, focusing on investment and asset allocation for high net-worth individuals and institutional investors.

 

Jeff oversees and manages all aspects of the business and works out of Grand Coast’s primary office outside of Boston, Massachusetts. Jeff holds a Masters in Finance from Suffolk University and a BS from Vanderbilt University. He is a member of American Association of Private Lenders (AAPL), and holds a Series 65 Securities License. In addition, Jeff teaches commercial real estate investing to students across the country, and previously taught real estate finance at Suffolk University.

CEO & Founder

Carolyn joined the firm in 2016 with 7+ years’ experience in administrative and project management experience. Carolyn currently serves as an executive assistant, office manager and is an integral member of the investor relations team. Previously she worked at Crescent Capital LP as an executive assistant, where she managed the executive team of managing directors and assisted with marketing and human resources. Carolyn has a B.A. in Administration of Justice from Salve Regina University in Newport, RI.

Cassie joined the firm in 2013 as Office Administrator and has 7+ years of real estate experience. She currently serves as a member of the operations team, loan processing & closing, investor relations, as well as overall systems and business development for the firm.  Previously, Cassie was a property manager where she managed 700+ rental and condo units, and commercial properties in the Boston area. Cassie holds a B.A. in history and political science from St. Lawrence University in Canton, NY.

Erlin joined Grand Coast in 2016 as a customer service representative and IT support. Erlin previously worked as a Senior Support Specialist at Dell/EMC, an IT Hardware & software firm, where he was responsible for maintaining level 3 support for customers, engineers and partners worldwide. He previously was a UX/UI Designer at Intrepid Labs, a design & development firm.

Operations & IT

John joined the firm in 2016 and has 25+ years’ experience in commercial lending. He leads the origination efforts specializing in Small Balance Commercial and Bridge loan products. Previously he built the commercial platform at Equity One Commercial, where he grew the operation from 1 employee in 3 states to 50 employees in 48+ states while closing over $2 billion dollars throughout his tenure. Most recently, he ran the commercial division at Federal Savings Bank. John has a B.S. in Real Estate and Finance from Florida State University.

Matt joined the firm in 2017 and has 6+ years of experience in the real estate and investment sector. Previously Matt was a Senior Investment Associate at Rouse Properties, a subsidiary of Brookfield Asset Management, where he specialized in the acquisition and redevelopment of distressed retail assets.  Prior to Rouse Properties, Matt was a Financial Analyst at Brixmor Properties Group where he provided analytical support for the public formation of the company and it’s initial public offering in 2013.

 

Matt holds a Bachelor of Science Degree from Boston University and has been a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers since 2013.

Acquisitions

Jeremy joined the firm in 2017 as a Loan Originator and brings 6+ years of experience in Commercial Real Estate.  Jeremy is responsible for sourcing new business/lending opportunities, screening all new loan requests and handling all customer expectations from start to finish.  Jeremy most recently worked at a Real Estate Investment Trust as an Associate in the Underwriting Department.  Previously he worked as an Analyst in the Real Estate Finance Group of a National Insurance and Financial Services provider.

 

Jeremy holds a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration from St. Bonaventure University as well as a Certificate in Real Estate Finance and Commercial Real Estate from Boston University.

Alicia joined the firm in 2016 as a Commercial Loan Originator. She previously worked as a CFO over 11 medical practices for the last 6 ½ years in Nashville, TN. Originally from Maine, she attended the University of Maine with a focus on Accounting and Business.  Alicia lives in Nashville Tennessee where she runs the Nashville office of Grand Coast Capital.

Loren joined the firm in 2016 as an Accountant and member of the asset management team.  She is responsible for day to day accounting and loan servicing. Previously, Loren worked for 7 years at the Wartosky Group, where she was responsible for accounting and asset Management of $160 million in assets.  Loren has a BSBA in accounting from Suffolk University.

Chad Rivard


Origination

John joined the firm in 2017 as Senior Vice President of Asset Management and brings 25+ years’ experience in real estate, finance and asset management. John is responsible for overseeing asset management, risk and loan servicing for the firm, as well as management of the firm’s joint venture and equity portfolios. John previously worked at GE Capital Real Estate, where he had several roles, including finance, originations and asset management. His most recent role at GE was Senior Asset Manager. John graduated from Lyndon State College and holds a B.S. in Business Administration.

Paul joined the firm in 2013 and has 7+ years’ experience in the real estate and investment sector, facilitating over $500 million in real estate acquisitions. Prior to joining Grand Coast, Paul spent the last five years developing strategic real estate portfolios that provide a secure and diversified high yield for over 500 of his clients. Paul holds a degree from the University of California – San Diego as well as a Series 65 Securities License and a Real Estate Salesperson License.

Donna joined the firm in 2016 brings 20+ years of experience in the real estate, title, mortgage and insurance Industry. She currently serves as the company’s COO and handles all operations and accounting. Previously, Donna spent 19 years helping run and grow a small real estate agency into the 75th largest Real Estate Company in the country. As CFO and COO of Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate The Masiello Group, she was responsible for finance and operations with a team that grew from 4 offices in NH to 32 offices in 4 states in the New England Region. Additionally, she co-managed several affiliate companies – such as mortgage, title, insurance, home warranty, land planning and various property management companies.

Donna Southwell


COO

Jordan joined the firm in 2016 as a Loan Originator and brings 13+ years’ experience in the real estate and mortgage industries. Jordan has been a mortgage banker at People’s bank since 2014, where he focuses on the Maryland and greater DC area in addition to working as a loan originator for Grand Coast. Jordan previously worked as a mortgage loan officer and rose to branch manager of Savings First Mortgage, from 2004 through 2012.

Randy joined the firm in 2013 and brings 9+ years of experience in real estate investment, underwriting, and valuation.  Randy currently serves as Vice President of Asset Management, handling all valuation, loan servicing, and asset management for the entire portfolio. Before joining the firm, Randy spent 5 years as a Senior Valuation Analyst at Wilkes, Artis, Chartered, a real estate tax appeal firm in Washington DC, where he was responsible for conducting annual valuation analysis on portfolio of over 600 properties totaling over $1 billion. Randy holds an MBA from Boston College and BS in Finance from Boston College.

Joe joined the firm in 2014 with 4+ years of real estate experience. He currently serves as a Loan Originator and previously worked as an Underwriter for Grand Coast. Joe is responsible for working closely with borrowers to secure financing for their investment properties. Prior to joining Grand Coast, Joe worked in Acquisitions at CT Homes, LLC where he was responsible for the analysis and acquisition of investment properties for the CT Homes, LLC team. Joe holds a B.A. in finance with a concentration in Real Estate from San Diego State University.
